Couple updates

Well its been a while since I posted an update, but there have been some things going on.  After 3 attempts and 1 redesign, I have finally got the body out of the way.

The light is partially blocked, but thus far it hasnt been an issue.  I was able to straighten it out a bit more from this, and it should be fine up there until its time for paint.

My wheels finally showed up!
17x9 in the front, 17x10.5 in the rear

There are left thread knockoffs which is a nice touch.

IRS rear

I've been receiving some parts off and on, mostly IRS and brake components.  Here are my OE rear knuckles:

I got these off ebay for a great price, which included poly bushings.  I also got a set of 99 cobra hubs and had those pressed in.  New wheel bearings are already installed so it is on to the bushings.  The stock upper bushings are rubber, so I am pulling them out.  I used a razor to trim the overlap off and then pressed them out with the help of a 36mm socket:

The new upper bushing is two piece, and was easy enough to get in.  The lowers however turned out to take some extra effort.  I used the same principle above but in reverse to get them installed.  There was a problem with the chamfer in that it was causing the bushing to hang up on it and not go in.  I spent about an hour grinding down the chamfer to make it a smooth transition on one of the openings.  This helped get the bushing in, but it was still taking a lot of effort and it seemed as if the bushing would rip at any moment.  Plus, the 36mm socket was not big enough to clear the bushing once it was through, so off to Lowe's I went in search of something better.  I found a 2in PVC cap that worked like a champ.  Also, I removed the inner spacer which allowed the bushing to bend more.  I was able to finish the remaining 3 bushings in under 10 minutes, without grinding down the chamfer.

I forgot to take a picture of the final product, but they will show up again as I build the rear assembly.
