Panel work

Well, thanks to Steve Hoag at Carolina Speed & Custom; I am able to progress!  Steve hooked me up with the proper footbox panel.  To recap, I started out with this panel:

The cutouts here are for a donor pedal setup.  If I used this panel, I would have to patch most of these holes and cut my own, as I am going with a Wilwood pedal set.  So here is the comparison of the two panels:

Ford donor panel on the left, Wilwood panel on the right, dirty floor in the back.  I have heard from several sources that there were other footbox panels that would need to be changed as well.  Steve's project is a newer Mk IV, and it looks like they made it much more simple, with just this one panel thats different.

30 minutes later, I had the proper panel in place.  NOTE: its a serious pain to try and line prior drilled holes with a new panel.  I hope I don't have to do this again!

Drilling interior pieces:

I decided I would go ahead and get started on the interior panels.  Following the build manual, I started with the lower firewall panel.  I had this panel stored on a shelf in garage, and it fell between the garage door and the shelf one afternoon.  I didnt notice until I heard the loud screech as it pinched between the shelf and the garage door.  DOH!  This made it slightly difficult to get together.  I added the passenger floorpan to see if I could get a general idea of how it would all go together.

Its kind of hard to see here, but the lower part of the A panel did not line up well with the inner footbox. I pulled the floor and the A panel out to re-evaluate the situation.  I had an idea of how the panel should have fit and did a little bending with the help of the bench vice to get it close.  I just drilled one rivet hole at a time and viola:

And now, I am out of Clecos!  Well I have the week to figure out what to do next I guess.
